$500.00 Bright Green, "Series 1942" Ovpt., Stock Transfer (RD138). Serial no. 1483, bright color, magenta handstamp and perf initials cancels, most of the perf initials are unpunched so it is not readily apparent, usual small staple holes

VERY FINE. THE $500.00 SERIES 1942 STOCK TRANSFER IS ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL STOCK TRANSFER STAMPS. PERHAPS 8-10 EXIST, AND VIRTUALLY ALL HAVE PERF CANCELS.

This rare issue was missing from the Floyd, DePriest, Wampler and Tolman collections. A review using Power Search and our digital records found the following serial nos.: 1463, 1464, 1469, 1470, 1483, 1546 and 1747. All except 1546 have perf cancels (it does have two small staple holes).
