Sep. 26" circular datestamp on cover to Buchannon Carroll & Co. in New Orleans, usual small filing holesEXTREMELY FINE STRIKE OF THE CANTON MISSISSIPPI "SMALL" LYRE FANCY CANCEL. THIS IS ONE OF THE FINEST STRIKES WE HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED.
This "Small" Lyre cancel is much rarer and more skillfully carved than the larger and cruder Lyre cancel used at Canton.
