Boyd's City Express, New York N.Y., 2c Black on White Unglazed (formerly 20L6). Oval cut, tied by grid on Nov. 25, 1848 folded letter with red Boyd's oval and "Paid J.T.B." handstamp, addressed locally, Very Fine, formerly listed in Scott as 20L6 but de-listed at the urging of specialists who were convinced that the paper was chemically treated to remove the green coating, we are doubtful they have been chemically bleached and we believe this is a genuine paper variety worthy of re-listing, very rare with only two examples known on cover (the other a stamp on a May 1848 cover, ex Kuphal)
