Stephens, Vice Prest." 7-Star Confederate Flag Patriotic cover (F7-1A, larger lettering) to Toledo O., barely reduced at rightVERY FINE. A CHOICE AND RARE USE OF A UNITED STATES STAMP ON A JEFFERSON DAVIS-ALEXANDER STEPHENS CONFEDERATE FLAG PATRIOTIC COVER, MAILED IN THE NORTH FIVE DAYS AFTER THE WAR BEGAN AT FORT SUMTER.
The 7-Star flag was the official Confederate national flag from March 4, 1861, until the admission of Virginia on May 7, 1861. The white lettering on this cover is slightly thicker and larger than that on the cover offered in lot 478.
