90c Carmine & Black, Plate Proof on Card, Plett Type 4 "SPECIMEN" Black Handstamped Overprint (121P4-S). Clear 21.5mm tall overprint applied diagonally reading down from top left to bottom right, large margins, Very Fine, this is the only recorded example of this type of "Specimen" on the 90c 1869, in the late 1870's and early 1880's the Post Office Department responded to requests for samples by sending out some of the card proofs that were available, in four recorded instances the receiving country applied the "Specimen" handstamp, this example was applied at Bechuanaland Protectorate, with 2010 P.F. certificate stating "it is genuine, from the British Post Office Archives", unlisted in Scott
