May 8" circular datestamp on cover to Tromso, Norway, via Christiana, red "New York May 13/5" 5-cents credit circular datestamp (scarce type), red "Wfco 2" (sgr.) handstamp for credit beyond North German Union, "Christiana 2/6/1871" receiving datestamp ties 15c, lightly cleaned, part of side flap missingVERY FINE. ONLY THREE COVERS TO NORWAY WITH THE 15-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE ARE RECORDED.
Four 1869 Pictorial Issue covers to Norway are known for the 10c value and up. Two others with a 15c are recorded. This cover is not listed in the 1869 PRA Census and was probably unknown to anyone in this country until now.
