15c Black (77). Horizontal strip of four, unused (no gum), crisp shade and proof-like impression on brilliant white paperFINE-VERY FINE. A RARE UNUSED MULTIPLE OF THE 1866 15-CENT LINCOLN ISSUE IN AN EXTRAORDINARY STATE OF FRESHNESS.
The 15c 1866 is very rare in original-gum condition, and if this multiple still retained its gum, the Scott value would be $20,000.00, and the righthand stamp might well be worth $15,000 alone. Without gum, the strip will hopefully be acquired and kept intact by a collector who appreciates its philatelic rarity.
