Horizontal block of 18, large margins to clear, bright color, April 1, 1864 manuscript cancels, few pressed-out creases causing small tears, tiny thin specks at right, overall in very nice shape for such a large multipleVERY FINE APPEARANCE. THIS IS THE SECOND LARGEST RECORDED MULTIPLE OF THE $5.00 PROBATE OF WILL IMPERFORATE ISSUE. A MARVELOUS SHOWPIECE.
The largest multiple is a block of 21 (three larger than this block) with similar cancels, offered in Siegel sale 1100, lot 160. The next-largest multiple is a block of six.
