INDIA, 1854, 4a Blue & Red (6; SG 23). Horizontal pair of the fourth printing, large margins to just touching frameline at bottom of right stamp, cancelled by diamond of dots on large part of cover (missing three of the four flaps) originating in Singapore (Straits Settlements) and sent to Glarus, Switzerland, blue Singapore forwarding agent marking at bottom left, various rating marks, Glarus arrival backstamp, cover slightly strengthenedFINE. AN INCREDIBLY RARE USE OF THE 1854 FOUR-ANNA ISSUE USED FROM SINGAPORE TO SWITZERLAND.
Any uses of Indian stamps originating in the Straits Settlements is scarce and desirable, even more so with this scarce destination to Switzerland.
