Goodhue, was a ship chandler and businessman from Salem, Massachusetts, he is probably related to Benjamin Goodhue, who served in the state senate from 1784-89 and then as Massachusetts representative in the first U.S. congress, Benjamin was a commercial merchant instrumental in establishing many of this country's revenue laws, and his son, Jonathan, was a prominent commercial merchant, ex Gibson, No. 7 in census published in Chronicle 234
