Sale 1100, Lot 202, Postal History: Stamped Covers3c Experimental Orange Brown, Ty. II (11A var). Two covers, first Position 37L1L, exceptional depth of color, large margins to just cutting at bottom, tied by bold blue strike of "Richfield O. Jan. 2" (1852) circular datestamp on buff cover to Oberlin O., original contents datelined "Dec. 28th 1851", some cover wrinkling, still Very Fine, signed by Dr. Amonette and accompanied by a 1990 note from him where he states, "as fine an example of the Plate 1L Experimental O.B. as I have seen", second cover from same correspondence with same markings except postmarked "Jan. 22", equally beautiful color, margins clear to touching with a slightly irregular corner at upper left, signed on back by Dr. Amonette with same quote as first cover, ex Wagshal
