FINE-VERY FINE. A VERY SCARCE PLATE NUMBER BLOCK OF THE 2-CENT WAR DEPARTMENT.

Plate blocks of the 2c and 3c consist of fourteen stamps, whereas other denominations are ten or twelve. The 2c War Department was not extensively remaindered after the discontinuance of Officials; therefore, plate blocks are rare.
