1c Blue, Re-Issue (102). Block of four, original gum, radiant color, detailed impression, top right stamp small repair at bottom where there was a pulled perf (as shown in our 1968 Rarities sale)VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE AND DESIRABLE BLOCK OF FOUR OF THE ONE-CENT 1861 RE-ISSUE.
The Scott Retail value of $60,000.00 is based on an allocation of price from the sale of a nearly complete set of blocks in our Whitman sale (Sale 968) and is not supported by other sale results. We believe our estimate more closely reflects market value.
