VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A SPECTACULAR MINT NEVER-HINGED CORNER-MARGIN IMPRINT AND PLATE NUMBER STRIP OF FIVE OF THE 10-CENT 1894 SPECIAL DELIVERY ISSUE.

Like the 1890's Bureau Issue plate strips offered earlier in the sale, this piece comes from an old-time collection and was most likely acquired by the previous owner through purchases at post offices in the 1890's and early 1900's. As such it has been kept out of the light since 1898 and has never before appeared at auction.
