Libby Prison, Richmond Va. Folded letter datelined "Libby Prison, Richmond Va., August 27th, 1863", with "Exd EWR" examiner's marking, "Old Point Comfort Va. Sep. 1" double-circle datestamp and "Due 6" in circle handstamp, sent by Captain David S. Caldwell to his wife in Poplar O., letter mentions he is well and hopes to be exchanged, Very Fine, Capt. Caldwell was one of the individuals who escaped Libby through the famous tunnel escape of February 1864
