1c Ultramarine, 3c Green, 7c Vermilion (145, 147, 149). Two 7c (one shows a few grill points), tied by segmented cork cancels on registered cover to C. E. Hartung (hair and wig dealers) in New York City, docketing on back indicates origin at Clinton, Iowa, Jan. 9, 1872, the absence of a sending office datestamp violates U.S. Post Office Dept. regulations and is especially egregious for registered mail, Very Fine, colorful franking for 3c rate plus 15c registry fee
