Two covers showing unusual uses, first uncancelled but "tied" by some toning around perfs on 3c Red Nesbitt entire to France, red "New York Paid 6 Feb. 13" credit datestamp, ms. "Due 2c", cover with central toned spot, appears Very Fine, unusual use as most short-paid covers were treated as completely unpaid, second cover stamp faulty, cancelled by penstrokes on cover originating in Canada and sent to Vt., Montreal rimless handstamp with "17 Oct. 1857" date in ms., "6" due marking, top flap reattached and expertly repaired along edges, still appears Fine, scarce use, with 1983 P.F. certificate
