30c Ultramarine & Carmine, Flags Inverted (121b). Perfect centering with wide and balanced margins, quartered cork cancel on one half of stamp leaves inverted flag on other side completely unobscured, few small thin spots (one breaks thru grill point)

EXTREMELY FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE CENTERED EXAMPLE OF THE 30-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE INVERT. ONLY 40 USED EXAMPLES ARE RECORDED IN OUR CENSUS.

Our recently updated census of 30c 1869 Inverts, available at http://www.siegelauctions.com/dynamic/census/121b/121b.pdf , contains a total of 47 stamps, including 7 unused and 40 used (one in the Miller Collection at The New York Public Library). This stamp is one of the finest centered examples of all, and it has only minor thins that are not visible on the face of the stamp.
