A CHOICE EXAMPLE OF THE PETERSBURG POSTMASTER’S PROVISIONAL TIED BY THE SCARCE “DROPPED 5 CTS” INTEGRAL-RATE DATESTAMP.
The Petersburg integral-rate datestamp on this cover is the “Dropped 5 cts” variety, in which the value extends below the rim of the circular datestamp.
