FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE SOUND ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 60-CENT 1894 UNWATERMARKED BUREAU NEWSPAPER ISSUE -- ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL NEWSPAPER STAMPS. ONLY TWO OF THE SEVENTEEN RECORDED UNUSED EXAMPLES ARE SOUND AND HAVE ORIGINAL GUM.

Our recently updated census of PR98 (available at http://siegelauctions.com/dynamic/census/PR98/PR98.pdf ) contains seventeen unused and three used copies. Of these, only two of the original-gum copies are confirmed as sound. Three others are possibly sound: one has selvage adhering to back, another has not been seen since 1960, and a third from 1980 may not have gum.
