Aug. 23" circular datestamp on orange-buff cover to West Rupert Vt., missing most of top flap and with repair along top left edgeAN EXTREMELY RARE TWO-THIRDS BISECT OF THE 3-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE PAYING THE DROP RATE ON COVER.
The best known of the 3c 1869 bisects were used from Luray, Virginia, on tax notices. This use from Vermont on a regular envelope is extremely rare.
