(PHILIPPINES/HONG KONG) "Manila Bay June 30, 1898". Dateline on enclosure with Remember the Maine multicolored patriotic design, matching cover with Hong Kong 10c Victoria tied by "Hong Kong JY 5, 1898" circular datestamp, addressed to Oakland Ore., purple "U.S. Consulate Hong Kong", San Francisco and receiving backstamps, great contents incl. "We captured about 65 Spaniards and 3 or 4 hundred guns and several thousand rounds of ammunition... We can see the masts of the Spanish ships that Dewey sunk still sticking out of the water", cover with some tears and toning, still Very Fine and rare Spanish-American War cover posted in Hong Kong, with its original letter containing a reference to Admiral Dewey's victory over the Spanish navy at Manila Bay in May 1898
