Sale 1067, Lot 1683, Postage Due, Offices in China (Scott J, K)3c Deep Brown, Special Printing (J10). Original gum, h.r., beautiful color and impression, small surface scrape at top, faint diagonal crease at bottom right not mentioned on accompanying certificate

FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT POSTAGE DUE SPECIAL PRINTING. THIS IS THE RAREST POSTAGE DUE ISSUE.

Although 436 copies were reported sold, it is believed that 100 copies were destroyed in the Calman lot. A thorough search of the marketplace, combined with conversations with dealers and collectors, has confirmed the extreme rarity of this stamp. A review using Power Search reveals that we have not offered another with original gum since 2009.
