A SUPERB STRIKE ON A FINE APPEARING COVER. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE ANNAPOLIS POSTMASTER'S SEAL, WHICH WAS USED TO MAKE THE FAMOUS POSTMASTER PROVISIONAL ENVELOPES AND ALSO WAS RARELY APPLIED AS A POSTMARK. IT IS ESPECIALLY SCARCE STRUCK IN RED.

The Scott footnote to 2XU1 values the blue circle at $7,500.00 with "2" handstamped rate and $11,000.00 in red with the same rate.
