Revenue Use of 50c Green, Postage Currency, Imperforate (PC8). Used to pay 50c tax due on March 17, 1863 Indenture of Lease, signed by Charles R. Waterman and dated "March 17th", also signed on the document by Waterman and Merick Freeman to the right of the 50c Note, crease from fold and some old tape stained rejoined separations on the two folds above, possibly unique, we have seen many examples of postage stamps used to pay revenue tax, and revenue stamps used to pay postage, but this is the first example of Postage Currency used to pay tax
