5c Green, Stone 1 (1). Full margins to just in, deep shade, tied by bold "Richmond Va. Oct. 23, 1861" circular datestamp on grocer's yellow lithographed advertising cover to New Plymouth Va., backflap tear barely extends to front, some minor edge staining on back, still Very Fine, a scarce and desirable first-month use on a grocer's corner card, signed Brian Green, who noted it as the earliest known use of Stone 1 (Scott Catalogue now lists Oct. 18 as EDU)
