2c Vermilion (178). Vivid color (slightly oxidized), cancelled by quartered cork on 3c Green Centennial entire (U219), same cancel with "Centennial Philada. Pa. May 26 12M" circular datestamp, addressed to Birmingham, England, with mechanical typewriter, red Philadelphia and 1876 London transits, receiving backstamp, minor edgewear, Very Fine and desirable, the typewriter was introduced at the 1876 Centennial Exposition and this is a very early use of a device that would soon become ubiquitous
