Sale 1037, Lot 2630, Steven R. Belasco`s History of Stamp Collectors and Dealers10c Yellow Green, F. Grill (96). Tied by quartered cork, "Morristown N.J. Apr. 1" circular datestamp on yellow 1869 cover to Leipzig, Germany, addressed to Harry Van Arsdale, endorsed "Hamburg Steamer" and with red boxed "Hamburg Franco" handstamp, with original March 28, 1869 enclosure with great stamp-related contents incl. "Stamps are all the rage here, nearly everyone is collecting them. The new U.S. stamps will be issued on the first of April. The one cent stamp is headed with the vignette of Franklin, & also those of two other men. The two, three and twelve-cent stamps have illustrations of railroad trains, steamboats and horses. The fifteen and twenty-four cents have miniature copies of the landing of Columbus and the Declaration of Independence", Very Fine, a fascinating cover discussing the 1869 Pictorial stamps just as they were being issued
