1c Blue, Ty. II, IIIa (7, 8A). Complete plate reconstruction of the left pane of Plate 1 Early, comprising a total of 124 stamps (24 are part of overlapping multiples), nine are Type IIIa and the remainder are Type II, range of cancels including two small Boston "Paid" grids, other grids (few in red), circular datestamps with few in blue, few manuscript, variable quality but well above the typical plating standard with many four-margin examples and some with sheet marginsA SPECTACULAR AND HISTORIC COMPLETE PLATE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE LEFT PANE OF PLATE ONE EARLY. THIS RECONSTRUCTION WAS ASSEMBLED BY STANLEY B. ASHBROOK, WHOSE PIONEERING WORK ON THE ONE-CENT 1851-57 ISSUE CREATED THE FOUNDATION FOR FUTURE SPECIALISTS.
