2c Carmine Rose, Ty. III, Rotary (546). Vibrant color as fresh as the day it was printed, choice centering with balanced margins, face-free strike of registry oval cancel, fresh and Extremely Fine, according to Johl "most collectors and dealers entirely overlooked this variety and most of the stamps served their postal needs and were destroyed. Used copies are almost as scarce as the stamps in mint condition and well centered specimens quite hard to find", Armstrong also notes that the centering is normally exceptionally poor, since the sheets were manually fed into the flat plate perforator as opposed to machine fed into the rotary perforator, and the sheets had a natural tendency to curl, with 2009 P.S.E. certificate (VF-XF 85; SMQ $225.00), only two have graded higher to date and only three others share this grade
