Vivid color and detailed impression, well-proportioned margins, unusually wide and balanced, neat face-free strike of "1889" oval handstamp, Extremely Fine Gem, especially desirable with the contemporary year-dated cancel, the 4c color was changed to avoid confusion with the 2c, the color of which had been changed from brown to green, Brookman notes that "it is surprisingly difficult to find in prime used condition"
