MDCCCLXIII" (1863)," cover is dark brown with hubbed spine and gilt decorations, 208 pages with gilt edges, all stamps removed, significant cover edge and corner wear, first few pages including title page detached and with broken edges, some page thinning from removal of hinges, still a collectible and rare early stamp album, a smaller edition was published in Dec. 1862, with two copies known to exist (one in green, the other in red), twelve copies of this edition were reported in the American Philatelist (Mar. 1988) and probably no more than 20 exist
