Cancelled or tied by corks, matching "Yokohama Japan Feb. 28" circular datestamp on 1872 cover to Gravesend, England, endorsed "Via San Francisco" at upper left, red "New York Apr. 3" transit circular datestamp, receiving backstamp (Apr. 17), some slight edgewear causing small tears in 10c, still Very Fine, scarce franking paying the 10c rate to U.S. plus 6c rate to England, with 1986 P.F. certificate
