This group and the other lots in this section of Match, Medicine, Perfumery and Playing Card die and trial color proofs originate from the American Bank Note Company archives. Each item was produced in Black for mounting on a sample book page, and is not cut down from a large die proof. As such, they may be appropriately considered small die proofs or small die trial color proofs. Since the Scott Catalogue does not list small die proofs, we have described them according to the large die listings and, we believe, very modest Scott retail prices.
