FINE APPEARANCE. THIS IS THE LARGEST RECORDED MULTIPLE OF THE 6-CENT STATE DEPARTMENT ISSUE. A REMARKABLE MULTIPLE FROM THE TOP HALF OF THE PANE, WITH IMPRINT AND PLATE NUMBER AND ALSO SHOWING A FOREIGN ENTRY OF THE 6-CENT EXECUTIVE, PLATE SCRATCHES AND PLATE DAMAGE.

The previously largest-recorded multiple of the 6c State Dept. is a block of 20 in Les Lanphear's collection, which comes from the lower left corner of the sheet. It does not contain the full imprint and plate number. The foreign entry of the 6c Executive is known on Position 41 and 91. The multiple offered here was buried in an old-time holding until recently unearthed.
