1894-98 Bureau Issues, Paper Folds and Forgeries. Four pre-printing paper fold items, incl. Mint N.H. bottom right corner selvage block of six of No. 250 with dramatic paperfold causing wide area of unprinted paper and wild perfs, block of 27 of No. 279B with twelve stamps affected by pre-printing paperfolds of varying intensity, single of No. 279B with paperfold at lower left which causes a 5mm gap in the design as well as freak perfs, and left corner selvage single of No. 281, creasing at top left causing dramatic shift with top left portion of design printed in selvage, a few flaws throughout but a wonderful group of these varieties which would make a nice exhibit page, lot also incl. four 2c Carmine, Ty. III, Lithographed Counterfeits, on watermarked paper and gummed, few flaws mostly in perforations, in April 1896 two young men offered to sell the 2c issue at a 5% discount, they are on a different paper than the counterfeits that surfaced in 1894
