Meriden N.H. Two covers, both addressed to Rev. Gulick at Wailua, Oahu, Sandwich Islands, one with bold red circular datestamp of Dec. 17 and blue "Paid" with ms. "6" rate, other with blue May 21 circular datestamp and matching "Paid" handstamp with ms. 10 (overpaid), each with small red crayon "5" for Hawaiian postage due, 1852 docketing on each, some wear, Very Fine strikes, a highly exhibitable pair of covers, the one with the ms. "10" rate was sent not long after the new Postal Laws & Regulations of 1851 were published (April 1852) and so the postmaster may have been confused by the 10c rate to some destinations on the West Coast
