1936, August 5 -- Los Angeles-U.S.S.R. Experimental Flight. Two covers (one flown), each bearing U.S. 16c Air Mail Special Delivery stamp and 3c stamp, also with Russian stamp, tied by "Moscow 26.9.36" circular datestamps, flown cover with purple cachet, Berlin and New York backstamps, both covers signed by pilot Levanevsky and copilot Levchenko, some minor edgewear, Very Fine, scarce, accompanied by copy of letter from U.S.S.R. embassy in Washington stating this was a test flight for scientific research purposes and that almost no mail was carried
