3c Orange Brown, Ty. II (10A). Position 3R0, bright color, full to clear margins, tied by bold strike of blue "Charleston S.C. Paid Oct. 24" (1851) circular datestamp on folded letter and prices current to Providence R.I., file fold does not affect stamp, Extremely Fine, initialed by Wilson Hulme as "Experimental O.B." but plated by Richard Celler as Plate 0 (Orange Brown plate), if Hulme was correct this is an unusual shade from a No. 10/10A plate, the 1851 Experimental Orange Brown is known to come from Plate 1L, ex Makepeace
