5c Orange Brown (1b). Dark shade (possibly oxidized), large margins all around, cancelled by ms. "X", red "Washington City D.C. Jun. 9" circular datestamp on cover with "Thomas's Irving Hotel Washington D.C." handstamp, to Philadelphia, trivial edgewear, fresh and Very Fine, beautiful and rare hotel cover, with 1991 and 2005 P.F. certificates as Orange Brown No. 1b but in our opinion it is a Red Brown, estimate based on hotel marking
