RAILROAD" straightline handstamp struck multiple times with parts of two strikes relatively clear, red "New -York Jul. 31" circular datestamp on 1847 folded letter to Avon Conn., heavy strikes of the handstamp slightly break the paper or thin the stamp in a few places, some age spotting, still Very Fine appearing and scarce first month use of the 5c 1847 with the Philadelphia Railroad straightline, with 1973 P.F. certificate
