I (265) plate no. 214 single tied by Buffalo N.Y. May 1, 1896 machine cancel, other is locally used 1c Blue entire with upper diagonal half of No. J39 with "Due 1" handstamp tied by Clinton, Iowa Feb. 14, 1896 oval grid duplex (perhaps had a valentine enclosure), cover filing crease toward bottom, Fine lot, the Jefferson is well-known and was probably created because of 1c Postage Due stamp shortage
