Sale 1003, Lot 5259, United States Postage Due Issues (Specimens)1c-50c Claret, 1891-93 Postage Due, Archival "Specimen" Ovpts. (J22S-J28S var). Affixed to two strips of paper cut from an old stamp album, each bearing "SPECIMEN" handstamped ovpt., Marcus Samuel Ty. NA2 applied by the Natal Post Office, the same as found on Natal King Edward VII £20, Fine-Very Fine, very rare, the non-overprinted stamps were sent to the U.P.U. headquarters in Bern, Switzerland and were later forwarded to the Natal Post Office, with 1981 B.P.A. certificate (erroneously identified as 1887-89 Red Brown issue)
