VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A RARE AND DESIRABLE PLATE BLOCK OF THE 2-CENT 1910 WASHINGTON ISSUE IN THE LAKE SHADE.

Through an error at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, a small quantity of this stamp was erroneously printed using the inks in use at the time for the Postage Due issues.

Our computerized records contain 20 lots offered in our sales over the past 18 years. Of these, only two were blocks (of four) and only one was Mint N.H.. This plate block, containing three Mint N.H. stamps, is a phenomenal rarity.
