30c Orange (38). Bright color, used with 3c Dull Red, Ty. III (26) and tied by well-struck "Philadelphia Pa. Jan. 28, 1861" octagonal datestamp on light yellow cover to Cape Hatien, Haiti, red "24" credit, St. Thomas and Jacmel backstamps, flap tears and small scuffed area at left skillfully repaired, 30c few short perfsVERY FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE 1857 ISSUE COVER TO HAITI. VERY FEW COVERS FROM THIS CLASSIC PERIOD ARE KNOWN TO THIS ISLAND DESTINATION.
