3c Dull Red, Ty. I (11). Positions 40/50R4, vertical pair with part imprint and plate no. "4" at right, thickly applied original gum slightly disturbed and washes over onto sheet margin, large margins with portions of five adjoining stamps, otherwise Extremely Fine, a rare plate number and imprint pair from Plate 4, the left plate number on this plate was a mirror-image "4" (see lot 3073), the right plate number offered here was right-reading

3c Dull Red, Ty. I (11). Positions 51/61L4, vertical pair with imprint and plate no. "4" (mirror image) at left, worn impression and color a bit faded, pen cancels, couple small faults confined mostly to the selvage, a very rare used pair showing the plate number, according to the Chase book only the left pane of Plate 4, Plate 9 and the "4" in Plate 14 were engraved in mirror image
