10c Brown, Grill (139). H. Grill, remarkably well-centered with wide margins, dark color on bright white paper with long full perfs all around, many clear grill points, neat part strike of "N. York Steamship" circular datestampEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A PHENOMENAL USED 1870 10-CENT NATIONAL GRILLED ISSUE THAT SURELY RANKS AMONG THE FINEST KNOWN.

12c Dull Violet, Grill (140). H. Grill, gorgeous color and discernible grill points, unusually wide margins for this difficult issue, light cancel at right leaves entire design clearly visibleEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1870 12-CENT NATIONAL BANK NOTE COMPANY GRILLED ISSUE. THIS IS EASILY ONE OF THE FINEST IN EXISTENCE.
For some reason, the 12c National Bank Note Co. grilled issue is an exceedingly difficult stamp to obtain with wide margins. A Power Search review of our sale records failed to find another with such wide margins.
