EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL RE-ISSUE, SCOTT 123, GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 BY P.S.E. THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED.
With 1975, 1997 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (OGph, XF-Superb 95). This is the highest grade awarded to an original-gum example of this issue and it is shared by only three others.

VERY FINE AND CHOICE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL RE-ISSUE.
Original sales figures show that among the 1869 Pictorial Re-Issues, the 3c and 90c stamps accounted for the smallest number sold (1,406 and 1,356, respectively). Overall, the 1869s were popular with stamp collectors, far outselling the 1851-60 and 1861-66 Re-Issue sets. However, the 90c stamp's high cost and the wide availability of ordinary 3c stamps limited demand for those denominations. Today, both are rare, and handling over the years has not been kind to most of the surviving examples. This is a rare sound original-gum copy.

EXTREMELY FINE. A RARE AND EXCEPTIONAL SOUND AND CENTERED USED EXAMPLE OF THE 12-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL RE-ISSUE.
The 12c 1869 Pictorial Re-issue is the second rarest of the set in used condition, after the 3c. It was the only used 1869 Re-issue denomination in the Zoellner collection that was accepted with a small fault. This stamp ranks among a small handful as the finest extant.
Ex Kirke. With 2002 P.F. and 2005 P.S.E. certificates (XF 90). Only one example grades higher (at 95, ex "Tahoe") and this is one of only four 90s contained in the P.S.E. Population Report.

With 1972, 1988 and 2008 P.F. certificates (XF-Superb 95). By way of comparison, the highest grade awarded by P.S.E. is 95 (three examples).

Ex Drs. Dauer. With 2006 P.F. certificate (XF-Superb 95). By way of comparison, the highest grade awarded by P.S.E. is one example at 95J — then down to 90.

Ex Kirke. With 2001 and 2006 P.F. certificates (XF-Superb 95). With 2007 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90). As a P.S.E. grade of 90, only four grade higher. The highest grade in the P.S.E. Population Report is 95, which is the grade awarded by the P.F. (and the grade it deserves).

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 30-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL RE-ISSUE, WITH GORGEOUS COLORS, HUGE MARGINS, LONG PERFORATIONS AND A BEAUTIFUL CANCEL. A REMARKABLE STAMP IN EVERY RESPECT.
Ex "Tahoe". With 2002 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95). We do not know how this did not receive a 95 Jumbo grade, given its margin width. Still, only one other shares this grade and only two grade higher (at 98).
