Jun. 30" circular datestamp on 1862 folded letter to Carnsville Ga., tear at bottom and top left, some splitting along folds, stamp with horizontal file fold and some slight soiling, still Very Fine, scarce use on last day of 5c rate, from June 1, 1861 to June 30, 1862 the rate was 5c for distances under 500 miles and 10c for distances over 500 miles, after June 30, 1862 this was changed to a flat rate of 10c irrespective of distance
