1c Buff, Re-Issue (123). Slightly disturbed original gum, wide margins and well-centered, Very Fine and choice, with 1993 P.F. certificate
1c Buff, Re-Issue (123). Well-centered, rich color, blue cancel top left corner, Very Fine, with 1975 and 2004 P.F. certificates, Scott value without premium for the colored cancel
10c Yellow, Re-Issue (127). Original gum, essentially perfect centering with wide margins, vivid colorEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A STUNNING ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 10-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL RE-ISSUE, GRADED SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E. -- THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED.
The 10c and 30c 1869 Pictorial Issues and their Re-Issues are two of the most difficult designs to obtain in higher grades. Part of the reason for this has to do with their asymmetrical designs, which do not lend themselves easily to precise mathematical centering, which is the basis for numerical grading.
With 2003 P.F. and 2012 P.S.E. certificates (OGph, Superb 98; SMQ $11,250.00). This is the highest grade awarded and it is shared by only two others
15c Brown & Blue, Re-Issue (129). Rich colors, light cancel leaves full design clearly visible, fresh and Very Fine, ex Price, with 2001 P.F. and 2011 P.S.E. certificates
24c Green & Violet, Re-Issue (130). Rich colors, wide margins and attractive centering, light magenta cancel, Very Fine and choice, with 2000 P.F. and 2007 P.S.E. certificates, Scott value without premium for the colored cancel
30c Blue & Carmine, Re-Issue (131). Original gum, beautiful color and proof-like impressions on bright paper, almost perfect centering with wide margins all aroundEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 30-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL RE-ISSUE.
